YMCA Exeter, in collaboration with St David’s Church and Little Silver, is delighted to be welcoming the Radio 4 show Gardeners’ Question Time to Exeter on Tuesday 18th June.

The show is recorded in a different location every week and this week we can’t wait to welcome the panel of horticulture experts to our green corridor in the heart of Exeter City Centre.

Meet the team inspired by horticulture

Our area is called St David’s Hill – home to gardeners of all ages and backgrounds, committed to making an urban area beautiful for all. At the start of the street, you’ll find St David’s Church with its wildflower regeneration area and public orchard.

A few minutes walk from the church you reach YMCA Exeter, a charity committed to supporting young people who have come out of homelessness or care. Horticulture is central to the therapy YMCA Exeter offers, encouraging residents to step out of their rooms, learn new skills and enjoy the wonders of nature.

Cross over the road from YMCA Exeter and you’ll find the most delightful square, surrounded by houses on all sides, but packed full of wildflowers and colour. This is Little Silver, managed by four neighbours.
